Trademark
What is a Trademark or Servicemark?
A trademark is a word, name or symbol that is used in trade with goods to indicate the source of the goods and to distinguish them from the goods of others. A servicemark is the same as a trademark except that it identifies and distinguishes the source of a service rather than a product. The terms “trademark” and “mark” are commonly used to refer to both trademarks and servicemarks.
What rights does a Trademark or Servicemark give you?
Trademark rights may be used to prevent others from using a confusingly similar mark, but not to prevent others from making or selling the same goods or services under a clearly different mark.
How we can help you
Trademark Search
The first step in obtaining trademark protection is ensuring that you are the first using your mark in your field. We can conduct thorough searches through the USPTO, other State agencies and more to ensure that your trademark is distinguished enough to gain recognition in the eyes of your consumers.
Trademark Applications
After the initial search, we can file an application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). We will respond to any communications from the USPTO, and work to ensure that your mark can gain nation-wide protection.
